Brothers,
As you know, AOH membership meetings are held on the second Wednesday of each month which means that February’s meeting would be on Ash Wednesday. In an effort to allow members to attend Mass that evening, February’s membership meeting will now be held on Monday, February 8th at 7 pm. It will be held in the same location at the Knights of Columbus hall. I apologize for any inconvenience that this schedule change may have but I ask you to please make every effort to attend as it will be our last meeting before our Dinner Dance and Trip to Ireland Raffle on March 5th. It will also allow those of you who go off “the drink” for Lent to have one last beverage with your brothers before Lent starts.
In other news, as most of you, a dear friend of the AOH, Annie Nice was mugged and badly beaten outside her home last week. The brutal attack has left her in a neck brace and barely able to walk. Surgery will be required to repair the damage. A fundraiser will be held on Friday, February 5th from 5:30–9:30 pm at the Knights of Columbus at 4301 Columbus Club Drive in Raleigh, NC 27604. The AOH House Band, Ewe’s Tree will provide the entertainment while the Knights of Columbus will be selling chicken and BBQ dinner plates. Our own, Jerry Ryan, will be running several raffles on the night. He is looking for raffles prizes so if you can bring a bottle of whiskey, gift certificates or other items that could be raffled off, it would be much appreciated. The money raised will go to Annie and her family to help with the cost of hospital bills and other expenses.
I look forward to seeing you all at these two events.
Yours in Friendship, Unity and Christian Charity,
Eddie Foley
